goodbye lenin!

an update on yesterday

goodbye lenin! is a FABULOUS film
caught it during my 10 am eurostudies tut at lt 9
horrid timing seriously
managed to catch some shuteye at only 5 am last night
the cold wintry weather was depressing
made me wanna stay in bed and not make the long trip to sch
freezing geeky central library
to make matters worse
i realise i was utterly alone for the tutorial
unaccompanied
xian, laishan and lydia all MIA-ed

had to sit with christine leow
which was the single most annoying misfortune of the day
not because she's a lil weird
kinda got accustomed to her eccentricities in crescent
but!
guess what happened
ok, it's normal for ppl to discuss stuff during a movie
well, it's a little different with christine...

her: (laughs a little to herself) "he's rummaging thru the trashbins to find the old spreewald containers to put the pickles in! so that his mum will not notice the diff..."
me: (stopping her in midsentence) "yeah yeah i know thanks."

similar incidents like this occurred another 2 times.
got me pissed enough to shift away, saying "yeah okokok i get it" quite loudly.

and when the male lead managed to find the old currency notes stashed away in some old cupboard, christine promptly leaps out of her seat shrieking "yay!" in a rare burst of spontaneity with both her hands doing the victory sign.
which scared the living daylights out of me.

control, girl.
it wasn't even that climactic.

back to the fantastic show.
humour really transcends all languages
considering it a german flick
with the whole cast gabbing away in gutteral sounds
it's hilarious and sweet and sad
i love it!
maybe cos i'm doing european history
but definitely getting the vcd or sth.
trying to say asshole in german now
it's got quite a nice vulgar ring to it.

headed to orchard with alex
and that guy has got the patience of an angel, i tell ya
well we just went to wherever i wanted basically
zara mango topshop fox tangs fareast
but i'm glad he got some stuff from fox
and i was the one who picked them out! :)
from the mostly not-very-nice stuff

got a nice diamante sparkling necklace from fareast hayari
with a king's crown pendant topped off with a pearl. quite roxy-ish :)

asked the topman staff to transfer a grey funky tee to suntec topshop
it's really cheap at $16 and with 20% off, it's only 12.80 bucks!
got my green tanktop and a cropped black stretch tee at topshop
reserved the double layer green top too.

got my pink cord biker jacket from dp too!
$55.30 - yay, eileen got me a 30% discount :)
must have spent like 2 hours there
alternately trying on the pink and cream jackets
asking everyone in the shop for their opinions
alex was starved and nearly convulsed on the spot.

ended the day with a laksa dinner.
contemplated whether to catch wimbledon or not
agonising decision time for alex
before he chose to postpone it to the next weekend.
