celebrate love... everyday
girls cozying up to their guys with huge bouquets and teddy bears in tow. it's sweet to see couples radiating a blissful glow while luxuriating in love or in some more distasteful cases, groping each other in a horrific display of hormonal passions.
i don't know which is worse: being single on vday or attached but alone and out on the streets. but sad ol' me was the latter, dining in solitude at harbourfront yoshinoya surrounded by couples and young families. i had thought yoshinoya would be a safe bet, that i would be able to enjoy my dinner with a fair bit of anonymity; i mean, how cheapo can a couple get if they chose to dine there. but no, i was so wrong. there was little gifts placed by the side of table. couples flirtatiously picking off each other's ricebowls. i almost wanted to die. i don't mind cheap and simple (like a homecooked candlelight would be damn romantic) but fastfood restaurant atmosphere is just wrong.
i'm not mad at goof though it's our official first feb14 together because he has legitimate reasons to be excused from vday ceremonial rites. i just mind being out in public alone. it makes me wish for him desperately and i can't have that. like how i thought the as6 walkway today became such a charming place with pretty dangling paper hearts where one's usual purposeful strides were slowed to a stroll, enjoying the sights and sounds. i like that festive spontaneity of fass. yet i can't share that moment with him.
resolution vday: i won't succumb to my inner vanities and cajole flowers from goof. i will stop eyeing girls accompanied by bouquets/ugly bears/guys with envy. i will diligently avoid shopping and entertainment hotspots today.
lol. jotted this handy reminder in my organiser after seeing my 43290876th lovey-dovey couple.
