rainy sat

the weather's been cloudy and moody the whole day
drizzling slightly
with the air so still
the only soul in the house
just perfect for lazy reading
with many bouts of sleep in between
yes i do need some time for myself with myself

but can't help missing you

one of life's guilty pleasures

i bought and i bought and i bought today.

goodness gracious me. finally settled on a simple brown (and cheap!) shift dress from bugis v for goof's brother's november wedding and i'm hunting for a chunky red/gold elastic waisted belt now to complement it. *prays and crosses fingers* pls let me look gorgeous on that night! haha. i need to look presentable at least lah, sitting at the family table is no joke. i really love the dress though. it's v-necked with sleeves, above-knee length and spells vintage chic. yips goof might complain it's auntie-ish but i know i'll be wearing it to death and wish it was available in many different colours. :)

it's $34 (amazing price for a dress), the only saving grace from these two days' of retail therapy.

selected sth for chin which i hope she loves (cos i do! haha), invested in a topshop white shirt and 2 bags - a leather bag and the other, a marcjacobs-inspired quilted leather tote (very taitai and lindsaylohan/nicolerichie) - from b.o.w at icon and several other pieces i can't bear to mention for fear of bad shopping karma. think all in all, nearly 200 buckeroos. did my media writing interview with the very sweet and vinage-loving owner of b.o.w who graduated from nus law just this july. so not only was my shopping trip satisfying, it was productive too. -smiles- but the bags alone were a splurge so i'm kinda very broke now.

but feeling very happy. :)))

ridiculous

help, my mum wants to matchmake me to a 30-year-old banker! -faints-

this is the most annoying yet hilarious piece of news i've heard in a while. i don't mind making new, older-by-a-lot friends but boy, the circumstance, of which this falls under, is just too weird.

check out this bag i spied from topshop's website

pretty nice huh. i still prefer the other (prob cheaper too) $59.90 one i spotted at icon today with jo and shijia. too bad my birthday's already over. haha. hmmm but nah, this can wait. :)

tampons and weightlifting

darling goof just did the most impossible feat yesterday which left me pretty high, quite breathless and all flustered.

he... bloody carried me!

what were you thinking of? ;) this makes sensational news because first and foremost, i am by no means a lightweight. i weigh a hefty 57 kg at my last check and he, a lean 70. grrr. it scares me a little we're a mere 13 kg apart and he's gonna trim the gap further with that new strict diet he follows religiously.

but secretly, i've wanted my guy to be able to lift me up on his arms and carry me. and he must do that on our wedding day with grace and ease! lol. *blush* not an easy feat. yeah goof managed it, even spun me around a few times with his bones and muscles left intact so i conclude that was good practise. i can be somebody's carry-able, portable bride-to-be afterall! yays. haha. but it was really sweet of him to do that so out of the blue at the weirdest of all places - in the kitchen while we were cooking instant noodles he suddenly bent down and picked me up before i knew what was happening which got me yelping and panicking. :) really really sweet.

having my menses now which reminded me of my virgin tampon experience i had this june. well aunt rubes freaked on me just before my redang trip and i had to dash out to my nearest watsons for some tampons. it's a real lifesaver because i really have no intentions of attracting sharks while snorkeling. though i took only 5 mins (i've heard horror stories that lasted for as long as 45 mins!), it was a real nasty experience because i had to retry a couple of times and the damn applicator just got bloodier and messier each time. it was out of sheer desperation that it went in actually; i didn't wanna waste a stick. to make matters worse, i think my positioning was slightly off so it leaked shortly after. am i getting a tad too graphic here? heh. don't care! i wanna record it down.

the insertion is not painful per se. it's just... icky and very tight i guess. imagine, something's being pushed into my own body by myself and i can actually feel it touching my uterus! and afterwards, well i do feel like there's a small lump at the base of my womb though i think with proper insertion you won't notice anything. pulling it out was rather scary too, i can literally feel the whoosh and my sharp intake of breath as it slips out. real weird; it's almost like shitting. the hilarious thing is that insertion gets harder with each passing day as my menses "dried" up, providing lesser and lesser "lubrication". and it gets harder to gauge when to extract it out which is a chore cos it's virtually impossible to remove a firmly-placed tampon that has not sucked enough fluid yet. i took 2 full boxes to redang and used just 3 sticks. haha. on my third day which was my second day on redang, i gave up and went snorkelling with a pantyliner and promptly got it rather stained due to long ferry ride back. but no shark sighting whatsoever.

i love the clean fresh feeling it provides as staining is minimal once you master the technique. but i can't get past the icky feeling and the anxiety attack that putting a tampon on give me every time. so unless it's an emergency (like another redang trip), i'd prob stick to pads. a pity really, i'm a happy girl once the tampon goes in but the insertion and removal processes suck.

i'd make time for you, promise

i know it's aunt rubes' doing when i teared immediately upon receiving goof's call on the lonely train ride home after pilates. i miss him super badly today but didn't wanna bug him cos he seems pretty busy with work and one nasty project. thank god there are kind industrial design souls like xian helping out those engine boys. then emotions welled up again when i had a bust-up with my annoying brother. sigh.

went nosing around my photos for a decent one to stick onto my resume of sorts and i was left aghast at how horribly rotund and enormous and lardy i used to look! YIKES. it was scary. it was like, how did i ever manage to convince myself it's ok to be looking like that? scary scary scary. another thing to depress me again. i pray and hope i never go anywhere near looking like that again. if i do, someone better tell me to "buck up to my ideas" (ferdinand, rio, sports section, straits time, sept, 2006).

最美的爱情回忆里待续

having reviewed jay's latest album 依然范特西, i think 退后, 心雨 and 白色风车 are the nicest of the lot :) (and it had a lot to do with the poetic lyrics)

happy monniversary

for once, this semester literally flew past.

i can't believe it's just a week more to the mid-term break. so far, been really enjoying myself in all the modules :D i love attending every lecture and tutorial - academically, it's very fulfilling, period. catching up on readings is a perpetual headache but i'm crossing my fingers that hardly anyone can stay on top of it anyway.

i'm seriously hoping britney spears can quit her pregnancy addiction and stay on birthcontrol pills or sth. that federline guy is screwing her (and her career) up bad and the more i look at her, the more brit's resembling a sow. tsktsk. on the other hand, suri's the cutest, most gorgeous celebrity baby i've ever seen! and weirdly enough, i can really see tom cruise and katie holmes in her - the striking dark mane and eyes. yep, it's theirs alright. it's not fair how paris and britney look so exotic with dark hair while we asians just look so washed out in blonde. bah.

everything's fine with me and hope all my lovelies are as well. hugs :) okies will think of more interesting stuff to say but meanwhile, that's it. haha.

me: i wanna spend more time with you.
him: we'll have a lifetime to spend together.
