you can see i have a problem with punctuation

a quick blog-browse was enough to make me happy, if slightly envious, to note that my friends are mostly having the time of their lives whereas all i can say for myself is that i've just caught a fantastic carling cup final where manu completely annihilated wigan with a 4-0 scoreline and with that emphatic victory, savoured precious footage of a deliciously topless cristiano i wish i could freezeframe for my own private viewing pleasure later, realised from the "for you smudge" tee that alan smith will be out for at least 6 months with a dislocated ankle and a broken leg (ouch ouch OUCH) and thus unavailable for england recall for worldcup2006 (poor lad but yes! germany! worldcup! june hols!),

turned into an obsessed online shopping convert after i was made acquaintance with the wonders of ebay and yahoo auctions by joyce and soon ensnared myself in a mire scouring for a cheap usable antique typewriter amidst other items all of which will remain strictly confidential until purchased,

after spending my entire saturday worried sick over goof's disappearance - no calls, smses and awol msn - quietly going insane with progressively morbid scenarios of him either sleeping until he slipped into a coma, running a fever which developed into pnuemonia, not loving me anymore or he was abducted by an evil pervert who then placed him in a room with hot babes so he forgot all about me (waking up from a nightmare in which he cheated on me with a gorgeous babe didn't help one bit), and as i roused on sunday morning, immediately reaching for my hp with him being the topmost priority in my head, i figured i really do love him like crazy afterall because i have not cared so much for another human being ever since dad's heart attack and naturally, he just had to make me look silly and piss me off by sheepishly confessing he slept the entire weekend away, capping a brilliant end to my lameass attempt to remain buried in my readings which explains my presence here.

very long sentence, no? i even paragraphed it. heh.

i can be pretty cloistered up in my own little world of just me and him, content to just soak up his presence. i'd hate to neglect my friends so please drag me back into reality if you see me fading into oblivion.

For nothing can be ill, if he be well.

hey, that nokia tune =)

There's no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing, but I could try for your heart
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things
Like a shoebox of photographs with sepia tone lovin'

Love is the answer
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Why are we here and where do we go
And how come it's so hard
It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing
It's always better when we're together

I believe in memories, they look so, so pretty when I sleep
And when I wake up, you look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing
We're better together

i'm mad tadada

i hate myself for lying. for saying "it's ok no big deal" when actually, it means a great deal to me. i'm constantly left perplexed by how little things can matter so much to girls. hell, i'm guilty of that too, now. but what the hell. that was uttered impulsively to smooth the stilted conversation but i didn't expect you to go ahead and believe it. and i have just made myself madder cos now you think everything is ok, when it is bloody NOT.

nice work, jane.

but hey, isn't your boyfriend supposed to understand what's left unsaid? maybe they get confused easily by mixed signals. really, guys can be so inane - taking things at pointblank. well it won't kill to read further, probe deeper ya know. maybe lesbians have an easier time.

right. theatre?! eh, 100% for journalism too ok. so much for a literature major. so much for pinning hopes on it being able to solve my life's greatest mystery of all - why sometimes it feels so sucky to do lit. still, it's hard not to gear your answers towards what you have already in mind. oh well, at least it hit the jackpot on engineering and eurgh, chemistry.

and i know you guys are gonna flock to this test like pooh to honey. i just know it. -smirks-

angry angry and taking it out on the keyboard. this is one time when lipservice is just not gonna fix it, pal.

celebrate love... everyday

girls cozying up to their guys with huge bouquets and teddy bears in tow. it's sweet to see couples radiating a blissful glow while luxuriating in love or in some more distasteful cases, groping each other in a horrific display of hormonal passions.

i don't know which is worse: being single on vday or attached but alone and out on the streets. but sad ol' me was the latter, dining in solitude at harbourfront yoshinoya surrounded by couples and young families. i had thought yoshinoya would be a safe bet, that i would be able to enjoy my dinner with a fair bit of anonymity; i mean, how cheapo can a couple get if they chose to dine there. but no, i was so wrong. there was little gifts placed by the side of table. couples flirtatiously picking off each other's ricebowls. i almost wanted to die. i don't mind cheap and simple (like a homecooked candlelight would be damn romantic) but fastfood restaurant atmosphere is just wrong.

i'm not mad at goof though it's our official first feb14 together because he has legitimate reasons to be excused from vday ceremonial rites. i just mind being out in public alone. it makes me wish for him desperately and i can't have that. like how i thought the as6 walkway today became such a charming place with pretty dangling paper hearts where one's usual purposeful strides were slowed to a stroll, enjoying the sights and sounds. i like that festive spontaneity of fass. yet i can't share that moment with him.

resolution vday: i won't succumb to my inner vanities and cajole flowers from goof. i will stop eyeing girls accompanied by bouquets/ugly bears/guys with envy. i will diligently avoid shopping and entertainment hotspots today.

lol. jotted this handy reminder in my organiser after seeing my 43290876th lovey-dovey couple.

guilty, as charged

psst... can i tell you a secret?

i have no idea what to get goof for vday and seriously, it's driving me crazy. i tell you, vday is this one huge conspiracy conceived by capitalist money-grubbers. It's designed to exploit the tender feelings of lovesick fools, encouraging overindulgence in heady splurges of love declarations with flowers chocolates and expensive dinners. singles, moved by some strange compulsion to pamper themselves, organise mass sessions of spa treats, alcoholic binges at clubs, retail therapy with compatriots as if urgent validation of life being just as fulfilling, without the existence of a romantic liaison, is suddenly being called for. as for lazy lovers, we just feel damn guilty while being driven to insanity.

the whole human race gone berserk for one day.

sounds like a good thesis for a giftless feb 14? i think not. you know how guys like to act nonchalent for things they care about most. ah hah, that's when it gets confusing; they are also bochup when it comes to things they genuinely don't give a rat's ass abt. who says women are difficult creatures. pffft.

sod off, asshole

first you ruined my sunday by calling my hp n times, then making me miss precious rounds of blackjack with goof's family when we could be winning big bucks only because you wouldn't quit calling and wasting my talktime minutes on a stinking prat such as yourself. discussing quibbling and getting pissed over academic on, get this, a bloody weekend! you flooded my inbox with annoyingly prudish-sounding emails. so damsel in distress and oh-so-serious-i'm-gonna-call-the-cops-in. never in my life met a more so-kiasu-i-wanna-die year 1. the matter's solved but i still bloody hate you. good luck with your presentation; i hope you flunk it.

stuck

i have lots to say
but when i see your face
the wicked smile that goes right up to your eyes
and lights up, the luminescence within
words, they fail me.

and words again, they stutter and peter out
unable to thrive anywhere else but here.
